I am on mission to help lawyers practice law better.
Through Lawducate, I teach lawyers how to be better businesspeople.Â
I've worn many hats, including legal assistant, law student, patent associate, in-house intellectual property counsel, solo attorney, and lawyer success coach through my 30+ years of experience in the legal profession.
I also teach The 21st Century Lawyer, to the next generation of attorneys as an Adjunct Professor at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, MA.
I live in Rhode Island with my husband, Bob, and our 16-year-old daughter. When I am not coaching lawyers I enjoy traveling, reading, tea, sushi, and am an avid fan of U2.

THE LAWDUCATE STORY
I know what it feels like to worry that you are not going to make enough money from practicing law.
When I started in private practice, I was 12 years out of law school. I knew how to practice law, but I did not know how to get a client. I had zero marketing or sales skills. I started my career as an in-house attorney. I didn’t need to bring in clients then, but if I was going to make my little business succeed, I needed to learn those skills now.Â
And I did. I read business books. I took online classes. I joined local business owner groups and masterminds. I had a coach.Â
Then something happened. I applied what I learned and built a small referral network. When I got together with other lawyers for lunch or drinks, the conversation eventually turned to work and our frustrations with the business stuff. Why hadn’t law school prepared us for running a law firm? I started sharing what I learned about business development with them.Â
Lawducate was born out of those conversations. If law school was not going to teach the business stuff, and lawyers needed that information to build successful law practices, someone had to teach it.Â
That's how Lawducate launched.
